This is key in order to promote online cross-border e-commerce and help create a more dynamic and robust digital single market for users and businesses alike. In this context, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will provide an important opportunity to establish harmonised rules and principles aimed at strengthening individuals’ privacy while also promoting the development of the Digital Single Market and innovation in the EU.
